Abraham
The founder-patriarch of the people of Israel. His faith, his prayer and obedience to God made him a model for all evangelizers.God made a covenant with Abraham: God promised him land in which to live, and many descendants, a great people for whom the Lord would be their God.
Abraham’s original name was Abram, but God changed this name to Abraham (the father of a great multitude, Gen 17:5) to signify the mission God was giving him: in him God was blessing mankind. The Messiah-Jesus would be one of his descendants. Three world religions accept Abraham as their ancestor: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
